Take Your Golf Game To A New Level With A Free Fitness Tune-up in Jacksonville, FL
Jacksonville, FL (PRWEB) June 13, 2007 -- Heartland Rehabilitation Services and the HIT Center of Jacksonville are hosting a free golf swing analysis and golf fitness assessment on Saturday, June 23 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Heartland Rehabilitation & Pilates @ The Avenues, located at 9446 Phillips Highway Suite 1 in Jacksonville.
The golf swing assessments will be performed by David Glynn, a PGA professional from the Champions Club at Julington Creek. Licensed professionals from Heartland Rehabilitation and the HIT Center will complete the golf specific physical assessment.
"With a few simple stretches and exercises many golfers can improve their golf score. Repeated stress that stems from a golf swing can be alleviated by proper body-mechanics and improved overall fitness levels," said Ward Daron, Physical Therapist with Heartland Rehabilitation Services. "At this clinic, we will give the golfers specific tips to improve their game and prevent injury -- improvements they just won't get with the latest gadget or by following the latest fad."
The golf swing assessment includes assessing the golf club head speed, balance, core strength, grip strength, flexibility and will include a 5-minute fitness test.
"Most people don't have very good balance when they swing," said Glynn. "They fall over the ball instead of making a turn with their body. Additionally, whatever swing they have, a lot of times it isn't correct, and they keep doing it over and over. We will help them get back into the right position and into a muscle memory that is correct."
Each participant will take home specific recommendations as well as an individualized home fitness and exercise program devised by licensed athletic trainers, physical therapists and exercise physiologists.
A limited number of time slots are available for the free consultations. Golfers can R.S.V.P. by calling 904-262-7460. For more information, please contact Ward Daron of Heartland Rehabilitation at 904-382-1217.
